Potassium Fertilizer
Potassium Chloride (MOP)
Kaliumchlorid · Muriate of Potash · Potassium Sulfate · KCl
60% K₂O
Potassium Chloride (MOP) is the most widely used potassium fertilizer worldwide, supplying 60% K₂O. Potassium is essential for crop water regulation, disease resistance, fruit quality and efficient use of nitrogen. Cerantis sources MOP from Canada (Nutrien, Mosaic) and European producers in Germany (K+S). We also offer potassium sulfate (SOP, sulfate of potash) for chloride-sensitive crops.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is potassium chloride and what is it used for?
Potassium chloride (KCl) is the most widely used potash fertilizer worldwide with 60% K₂O. Potassium is essential for water regulation, starch formation, disease resistance and the quality of crop products. It is mainly applied as an autumn base dressing.
MOP vs. SOP (Sulphate of Potash) — what is the difference?
MOP (60% K₂O) is the most cost-effective potassium source but contains chloride, which is unsuitable for chloride-sensitive crops like potatoes, tobacco, strawberries and some fruits. SOP (50% K₂O + 17% S) is chloride-free and provides sulphur simultaneously. SOP is more expensive but essential for premium vegetable and fruit production.
What grades of MOP are available?
Standard MOP (pink/red, ~2mm), Granular MOP (harder, larger, better for blending), Coarse MOP (for spreading in wetlands or forests), and White MOP (purer, lower impurities). We supply all grades depending on your requirement.
What is Sulphate of Potash (SOP)?
Sulphate of Potash (SOP) contains 50% K₂O and 17% sulphur. Unlike MOP, it is chloride-free and suitable for all crops including chloride-sensitive varieties. We supply both MOP and SOP.
