Magnesium + Sulphur
Magnesium Sulphate
Magnesiumsulfat · Kieserite · Epsom Salt · MgSO₄
16–25% MgO · 13–20% S
Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO₄) corrects magnesium deficiency and supplies sulphur in two complementary grades. Kieserite (monohydrate, ~25% MgO) is granular and slow-release for soil base dressing, while Epsom salt / Bittersalz (heptahydrate, ~16% MgO) is fully water-soluble for foliar feeding and fertigation. Magnesium deficiency is common on light, sandy soils and where potassium inputs are high. Cerantis supplies both grades to European distributors.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between kieserite and Epsom salt (Bittersalz)?
Both are magnesium sulphate. Kieserite is the monohydrate (~25% MgO), granular and slowly soluble — ideal for soil base dressing. Epsom salt / Bittersalz is the heptahydrate (~16% MgO), fully water-soluble — ideal for foliar feeding and fertigation, e.g. to correct acute deficiency quickly.
How do I recognise magnesium deficiency?
Magnesium deficiency shows as interveinal yellowing on older leaves first; in maize as pearl-like striping along the veins, in vines as leaf yellowing (reddening in red varieties). It is most common on light, sandy soils and where potassium fertilisation is high.
Should I use foliar or soil application?
For a fast correction of visible deficiency, foliar Epsom salt (typically a 2–5% solution) acts within days. For sustained supply, granular kieserite is incorporated into the soil. Many growers combine both. We can advise per crop.
Is magnesium sulphate the same as the bath salt?
Chemically yes — Epsom salt is magnesium sulphate. However, agricultural grades are specified for fertilizer use (particle size, purity, packaging) rather than cosmetic use. Cerantis supplies agricultural/technical grades in bulk.
